Retention

Your teeth will be nice and straight after the completion of orthodontic treatment. At this time, we will remove the braces and give you a set of retainers which will begin the retention stage of your treatment. We will continue to monitor your teeth during retainer check appointments for an additional two years to make sure that the retainers are fitting well and that your teeth are staying in place. The final position of your teeth depend on how well you wear your retainers, so make sure to follow through with the hard work you’ve put in so far and wear them as instructed. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth. Also, the best way to keep the retainers and not lose them is to put them in the retainer case when they are out of your mouth. As the retainer saying goes, “In your face, or in your case!”
